Oh Sweet Day

Hope Everyone has a lovely Valentine’s Day today!Image

Hello! I have been in the midst of cleaning out my closet(s) the past week. When you have a closet (not your own) just for dresses you know you need to purge! I normally start to get rid of “things” and then I get too overwhelmed I shove it all away again. Not this week, […]

Happy Thanksgiving!

I find it nice to remind myself one day a year what matters and what Im very thankful for…

*The bounty of food that we will have in front of us tomorrow and the days to follow

*Grateful we have a roof over our heads, heat and the essentials to live a healthy life

*Importance of family and being close, even if that means by heart for  some members this holiday

I could go on, but I feel like a very lucky lady and wish everyone else a wonderful holiday!

First of all, I want to say that I have completely neglected my blog! Id like to make up for it by doing a longer post today. It has been just a year since we moved back to the East Coast from San Francisco, wow! Id like to pay homage by sharing some photo collages. These are either from outside our window, over the golden gate bridge or weekend trips beyond. When looking at all my photos, I found commonality between my favorites; they all seem to be located in close proximity to bodies of water. It doesn’t surprise me that I continue to have a magnetism to such places. I thrive and learn when Im near.

I remember thinking to myself, will we ever find that indy, rustic farm, beachy vibe near Boston? Where will we find cheese made fresh from the lands, Paper kissed from uncle Hank’s Vandercook or boutiques with designer dresses unique to the area?

This summer has been full of travel, culture and fun. We have traveled north and south of Boston and now we can finally answer this question and we can remind ourselves from times passed that NE has alot to offer as well! Its simple really. You just have to look for places that  have inherited traits from their ancestors and environment surroundings. It is tradition that carries on ancestors recipes, habits and objects. In these neat beach towns and farm lands, salty air and the scent of hay, builds character and tells its settler’s story.

Lone Star Visit

Hi there!

I just got back from a week long trip to Fort Worth, Texas to visit my parents where they now reside. It was so nice to have a change of scene and explore the area’s gems. Never would I have guessed there would be as much food, shopping and entertainment as I found; very exciting! One of my favorite part of my discovery was finding all kinds of cowboy boots in all shapes, sizes and colors! Apparently they are part of everyones lifestyle here. It not uncommon for people to have several pairs of boots in different colors and styles- including my parents! Look at these Red boots with the state appliqued?  I decided that if I lived in TX I would have purchased these brown boots with flowers on them; Probably wouldn’t be able to get away with it back here in Boston though. Many of the pretty intricate stitches and details were so fun to look at and evoked creative ideas!

Signed, Sealed, Delivered

Today is Valentine’s day and I am on a seal kick! I have been painting in water color which always reminds me of my mother. Growing up my mother started a traditon where she painted us cards ever year since I was 10 and I have kept them all!  Each card, each year,  different from the last. She liked to paint animals personified, as us; portraits of what we had achieved each year; very neat to look back on and remind myself of what I did and my moms silly yet natural talent.

Here are a few cutsie valentine ideas I have had doodling- seals and play on words.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Family Pressed

Its been a while since my last post. Ive been very busy with projects ,which is a great thing, and one especially I am pleased to share today. This wedding suite means alot to me because its my brothers! Everyday Im trying new things and pushing the envelope (no pun intended) to set myself apart. I worked with an old Winchester youth groupy to make my designs come to life. Ive taken a couple classes in letterpress but this is the first time I have seen my actual original designs pressed. When I found out that my fellow Winchesterite started his own letterpress company a couple years ago I had to reconnect. It was really fun to come together and collaborate our talents. Im very excited that now the door has opened for me to offer this service to my clients! I dont want to show too much since its pretty hot off the press but this gives you a peak.
